What is an Emergency medical benefit?

Emergency medical benefit
The maximum cost amount that the insurer will pay an individual traveller per trip (or multiple trips per year) for emergency medical care and services. It can range from as little as $10,000 to $5,000,000 or can be unlimited.
GOOD TO KNOW
Some insurers limit the emergency medical benefit amounts according to your age. For example, if you are over a certain age, the maximum limit can be a fraction of what is offered to younger travellers. Many insurers will not cover travellers over 80.
ASK BEFORE YOU BUY
Is the maximum benefit amount enough to cover any medical emergency at my destination?
