Stability period
The stability period or pre-existing condition period is the length of time (determined by your insurer) that your pre-existing condition must be medically stable counted back from the date of departure. Stability periods – also known as look back periods – vary and can require you to be medically stable for 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, 365 days or more.
GOOD TO KNOW
Age can also determine the amount of time you have to be medically stable to get coverage for a pre-existing condition. For example, if you are over a certain age, you have to be medically stable for longer than younger travellers.
